Download Pluto Photos
The offline photo organizer and photo/video editor for Windows, macOS and Linux. Version 2.4.12, released August 19, 2026. Free to use up to 500 photos, with no account, no card and no trial clock.
Pluto Photos for Windows
- Operating system: Windows 10 or 11
- Architecture: 64-bit (x64)
- Format: NSIS installer (.exe)
- Version: 2.4.12
Run the installer and follow the prompts. It offers a per-user install or an install for all users; the all-users option puts the AI model files in a machine-wide folder so every account on the PC shares one copy.

Pluto Photos for macOS
- Operating system: macOS 11 Big Sur or later
- Architecture: Apple Silicon (M1 or later)
- Format: Disk image (.dmg)
- Version: 2.4.12
Open the .dmg and drag Pluto Photos into Applications. Because a .dmg has no install step, the AI model files download quietly in the background on first launch — give it a few minutes on a new machine before the AI tools are ready.

Pluto Photos for Linux
- Operating system: Any modern 64-bit distribution
- Architecture: 64-bit (x64)
- Format: AppImage, plus a .deb for Debian and Ubuntu
- Version: 2.4.12
The AppImage needs no installation — mark it executable and run it. The .deb installs normally with apt or dpkg and fetches the AI model files from its post-install step. Arch users can install pluto-photos-bin from the AUR.

Free and Pro
The download is the same file either way. Installed and unlicensed it runs as the free tier: one library of up to 500 photos with tags, ratings, albums and export. A Pro key unlocks unlimited photos, both editors and every AI feature, as a one-time $29 purchase rather than a subscription.
Before You Install
Check the system requirements and the list of supported formats. There is no dedicated-GPU requirement; the AI models are sized to run on CPU. The app downloads its AI model files once, after installation, which is why the installer is a few hundred megabytes rather than a gigabyte.
Coming From Google Photos
Read the Google Photos migration guide and use the Google Takeout organizer, which reads the sidecar JSON files so your original capture dates survive the move.
